SEPTEMBER 9, 2003...TO MY READERS--There has been a sob story and an invective filling this space for too long, reflecting emotions which no longer exist. Time has moved on, and the world where such things were pertinent no longer exists. Now, I can just welcome you here to read the tale as it is, and thank you for coming.
THE DANEB QUARTET
By Emilie Jane Conroy
PROLOGUE: THE LADIES OF AVALON LIVE ON
I thought the best way to begin was with a piece extraneous to the Quartet which was written by none other than Daneb Rose, better known as Lupa, approximately one week before her suicide. In the summer of 2000, Lupa fell desperately in love with a nice gentleman from England (I haven't always thought so highly of him, but this is my final impression). Whether or not Lupa performed a love spell to bind her lover to her I will never know for certain. What I do know is that this spell as she has written it is pure fabrication. Anyone who knows me will be able to tell that right off the bat because (1) I would NEVER associate myself with anything Avalonian (it's overdone) and (2) I do not condone love spells because they are often more heartache than happiness. All the same, this is a peek into Lupa's mind, one of the few such peeks remaining to me. She indicated that any one of us she left behind could publish her work, and so I am doing with her authorization.
This tale was my catharsis. Here you will meet Daneb, who much preferred to be called Lupa, and follow her up to and beyond her suicide.
It seems Lupa's object of doomed romance read "The Second Soul" but never really was able to understand the basic premise.
Welcome to the first step for personal peace of mind.
Sometimes the dead are angry and restless and refuse to leave their living friends in peace. I thought I was going to have to do something drastic to help Lupa finally rest, but instead we have a happy ending to a weird saga.
I would like to point out that all fences between personages represented herein have been well mended, and this ending is about as happy as I could hope for.
