Photography is an art. Gardening is an art. When the two come together it can present a riot of color and beauty without equal.

These are pictures I took on July 4, 2003. I wiggled around on my tummy in the grass in pursuit of some great images. We always have a garden, but I'm especially proud of our efforts this year.

Select An Image The coneflower is also known as echninacea. Coneflowers thrive for us. Going for the 40 greens of Ireland? St. Francis of Assisi is a friend to animals. These froggies stand guard. Sage, basil, thyme, and other herbs are growing. No, it's not Audrey II! I love the contrast in this one. Here's a perfect rose coming into bloom. These just grow like crazy around here. I had to play with this one a little. The yard in the back is a grove. Here's a shot of the hydrangea. The hydrangea demands attention. You have to smell this basil to believe it. Geraniums provide a riot of color. This is a full shot of a rose in bloom. Welcome to the grove. The contrast in colors is striking. As in back, so in front. I can't forget the marigolds. Tiny apples before the squirrels get them. Behold beauty in the rain.
