STONE BENCH LIBERTY MEDIA
While we have been an advocacy center for free and independent written media, we have served in this capacity in our own region and not online. This is changing, and our scope is going national and global. For the moment, anyone interested--writers, journalists, and people who want their voice heard--should contact Emilie Conroy at emilieconroy@stonebench.us to join us!
Welcome to Stone Bench Associates LLC, an agency for author representation and publishing services. Our agency acts as a mediator between aspiring writers and publishing companies. Our years of expertise in the publishing industry are put to work for our clients who may otherwise have no idea of how to best present themselves professionally. The publishing business is more competitive than ever, and new writers need professional support on their side.
Stone Bench Associates LLC was formed in November 2004 by publishing professionals with excellent experience in agenting and marketing. Stone Bench is a group consisting of three authors' representatives and a panel of five reviewers. Our associates are experienced authors and publishing industry professionals. The future of publishing is with the beginning writers of today. We enjoy discovering the salable manuscripts among the many submissions we receive each week. We are eager to find new talent, and to work with unpublished writers in finding a publisher for their work. This makes Stone Bench an especially good agency for new writers, as we provide a more writer-friendly approach. In a short time we have already attained success for our clients and we are relentless in getting the best publishers and the best contracts. Writers will be glad to know that Stone Bench deals only with reputable publishers. We do not do business with vanity or subsidy publishers--writers should be paid for their writing and not pay to have their writing into print. We never charge reading fees, and in fact offer a number of free services for the writing community. We are an agency with a strong interest in international works. To this end we encourage people from around the world to submit their work. Not only is cultural awareness important, these global voices produce some exceptional work.
It is our policy at this point to consider non-fiction projects of book-length. We will look at the occasional and exceptional fiction project. We are especially interested in science and math-driven non-fiction, guidebooks, how-to, educational resources, and works on spirituality, religion, social science, history, politics, current issues, modern life, and music. However, we will read all query letters proposing a non-fiction book. We are currently undergoing renovations here on our website, created and implemented by our in-house web designer. Visit us again to see what exciting new information we.ve added.
To submit a query letter, please e-mail it to associates@stonebench.us. We did once accept submissions by mail, but we have decided to go electronic only. It is financially beneficial all around. However, we do still have a mailing address.
